Sunday Stealing: Wackadoo Pt. 1

This week's questions come from Shopafreakingholic and it was stolen there as well, but the search doesn't go back any further.

  1. What age is your youngest aunt?
-- Due to old grievances from a generation or more ago, I haven’t had contact with many members of my extended family in years. I’ve tried to reach out, but they don’t reach back. I would guess my aunts are in their 70’s. IMG_20130619_205315_389
  2. Do you miss someone right now?
-- Nah, I’ve got pretty good aim.

-- If only I had someone in my life who enjoyed it too.

  13. If you could climb any mountain or range which would you choose?
-- A couple local mountains are listed in my Bucket List (see above).
  14. Do you alphabetically arrange anything in your room? What?
-- Absolutely… DVD’s, Books, spices, CD’s…. is my OCD showing?
  15. Have you ever visited fat-pie [dot] [com]?
-- I just did. I have seen Salad Fingers on YouTube.
  16. Do you prefer sweet or sour fruits?
-- I would have to say sweet… peaches and apricots should be hitting their peak in the next few weeks.
  17. Do you like Flo Rida? Which song of his?
    -- Ummm… No!
  18. How are your dancing skills?
-- I got MAD dancing skills.
  19. What is your favorite number?

We don’t see eye to eye in political philosophy, but we have fun discussing the finer points of our disagreements. IMG_20130630_194833_707

Saturday 9: Dedicated to the one I love

  1. The lyrics include the line, "Love can never be exactly what we want it to be." Are you happy with your love life?
    -- No
  2. Another lyric is, "Each night before you go to bed, whisper a little prayer for me." Do you say your prayers?
-- I talk to myself to process things… it’s essentially the same thing.
  3. Mama Michelle and Papa John were married in real life. It didn't end well -- not for the couple and not for the band. Do you believe you could work successfully with a romantic partner?
-- I’d like to think I would. But each successive attempt makes me wonder if the problem is… (gulp)… me?
  4. After the band broke up, Michelle tried her hand at acting and eventually became a regular on the nighttime soap, Knott's Landing. Of course, she could live off of her music royalties while she learned her new craft. If money was no object, what career would like to try?
-- I would love to have the funds to gain licensure as a therapist.
  5. There is a famous rumor -- completely false -- that Mama Cass died while eating a ham sandwich. Can you think of another urban legend?mister-rogers -- I love urban legends. Ted Bundy killed my roommate and left a note on the mirror saying, “I’m glad you didn’t turn on the lights” OR don’t flash your headlights because you’ll get killed as part of a gang initiations OR Bill Gates will give a dollar to some just cause every time you share this image… but my favorite. is that Mr. Rogers was a sniper for the US Marines.
  6. In the 1960s, every high school girl wanted to wear her hair like Michelle and Cass -- long and straight. Can you recall a fashion trend from your school days?-- Being a child of the 80’s, I rocked the acid wash jeans and a mullet. Sadly, I cannot provide photographic proof.
  7. With the Fourth of July falling on Thursday, are you able to enjoy a looooong four-day holiday weekend?
-- I have time off from work and I have two of my children for the weekend. We went to see a minor league baseball game on Wednesday. Financial limitations prevent much beyond that in the way of ‘enjoyment’.
  8. Many communities have parades to celebrate Independence Day. Have you ever ridden on a float or marched in a parade?
-- I rode in a parade once or twice on the float for the company my parents worked for when I was in high school. We threw candy at unsuspecting people… good times.
  9. In honor of the Fourth of July, name your favorite Founding Father.
thomasjefferson-3-- “History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes.” – Thomas Jefferson, 1813

TMI Thursday: Happy 4th of July!

Sean at Just a Jeep Guy started it, now all the cool kids are doing it (The ones I know about are listed in the sidebar).

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

  • How many times have you watched Independence Day?
    • At least a half-dozen times
  • Do you like fireworks?
    • They’re pretty.
    • They were fun when the kids were small.
    • … and, like with most everything else in my life, I’m sure it would be more fun if I wasn’t going solo.
  • Which is the best fireworks show you've been too? 10267286fbce9393c509b96f1ee8f7de
  • Did you/do you light your own fireworks?
    • I used to when the kids were small. Now, that they’re older I just make a pile of money on the ground, squirt some lighter fluid and set that on fire.
  • Have you ever hurt yourself setting off fireworks?
    • No, but I’ve hurt others. One year when I was in high school my buddy and I purchased some “fun” fireworks in Idaho. We lit them off for his family; which included his very pregnant sister. One of the fireworks was one that jumped and zipped around randomly… this one randomly lodged itself in the flip-flop of the aforementioned pregnant lady. She suffered a serious burn to her foot and we felt really bad.
  • Do you have special plans for the 4th?
    • Nope just the ‘Murikan traditions of grilling meat and explosives.
  • What are your plans for the long weekend?
    • Not much.

BONUS

Have you ever kissed someone and seen fireworks like Bobby did when he kissed Millicent?

  • Nope… want to give it shot?

He's Guilty!

This has been quite a week for those of us who work with sex offenders and their victims. Bill Cosby; "Americas' Dad", was ...
